The production of China's battery grade manganese sulfate in August was 14,500 tonnes, a decrease of 3.3% compared to the previous month and 27.13% compared to the previous year, according to Mysteel survey. In August, the production of China's ternary precursors reached 71,700 tonnes, an increase of 2.05% MoM and a decrease of 9.13% YoY. In August, the traditional peak season has kicked off, the demand for ternary precursors moved up driven by an increase in downstream demand. However, after overdrawing the peak season demand in July, the monthly average production in the third quarter will be lowered, and some companies will start reducing production in September. Thus it is expected that the production of manganese sulfate in September may continue to decrease, with limited fluctuations from the downstream demand.
