In August, Chile exported 18,100 tonnes lithium chemicals in total, a decrease of 17% from the previous month and 11% from the previous year, mainly due to the decrease in exports to China.
The FOB price of lithium chemicals averaged US$ 9,000/tonne in the month, a decrease of 14% from the previous month and 46% from the previous year.
In August, Chile exported 12,100 tonnes lithium chemicals (mainly lithium carbonate) to China, a decrease of 23% from the previous month and 1% from the previous year, accounting for 67% of Chile's total exports. The export volume to China has declined for four consecutive months.
