Zijin Mining announced on October 24 that its joint venture subsidiary Manono Lithium Industry Co., Ltd. has obtained the exploration license for the northeast part of Manono Lithium Mine via approval by the Ministry of Mines of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The mine is one of the largest lithium rich LCT (lithium, cesium, tantalum) pegmatite deposits discovered in the world available for open-pit mining, and also one of the top three hard lithium ore projects in the world.
Zijin Mining stated that although Manono lithium mine is a "green field" project, it has great lithium resource endowment. The company will exhaust its resources to promote the exploration and development of the project.
