Cost Pushes Non-oriented Silicon Steel Price Up
Price for non-oriented silicon steel price surged up after China’s Spring Festival, according to the feedback from Shanghai market. Taking “800” grade 0.5*1200mm*C for example, transaction price for products from mainstream big producers went at 7500-7600 yuan/ton (including 17% VAT), 300-400 yuan/ton more than the level before the festival.

Silicon Steel to Go up in Wavy Channel in Mar
Silicon steel market stabilized before Spring Festival, but jumped after the festival mainly driven by Baosteel’s tough price advance for Mar business. However, downstream users seemed hard to accept the high price, and the market trade fell into deadlock. It’s expected that the price of silicon steel will continue the high level in Mar, and may go up in a wavy way.
